Mit einem Vortrag über "Die Suche nach dem Glück" im Werk von Michel Houellebecq startete die Montagsakademie ins Studienjahr

Schöne neue Welt!? Wie Wissenschaft und Technik unsere Zukunft sehen. Unter diesem Motto steht die Montagsakademie im Studienjahr 2018/19. Bis Juni 2019 geben WissenschafterInnen von österreichischen und deutschen Universitäten Antworten auf diese brennenden Fragen. Den Anfang machte am 15. Oktober 2018 der Grazer Romanist Steffen Schneider, der sich im Werk von Michel Houellebecq auf die Suche nach dem Glück machte.

Eröffnet wurde der Vortrags-Reigen in der Aula der Universität Graz von Vizerektor Martin Polaschek. Bis Juni wird es an ausgewählten Montagen Vorträge geben. "Bildung für alle durch allgemein verständliche Wissenschaft" ist der Untertitel der Montagsakademie. Die Veranstaltung wird per Online-Stream in mittlerweile zwölf Regionen Österreichs live übertragen, jährlich kommen neue PartnerInnen hinzu.
