Dass das All kein rechtsfreier Raum ist, zeigt eine aktuelle Ausstellung im RESOWI-Zentrum.

Rund um die Themenbereiche Weltraumrecht und Weltraumpolitik sind im Erdgeschoss des Bauteils C im RESOWI-Zentrum noch bis 15. Juni 2018 wissenschaftliche Poster zu sehen. Diese wurden von Jus-Studierenden im Rahmen einer Lehrveranstaltung erstellt. „International Space Law“ lautet der Titel des Seminars, das von Christian Brünner, Yvonne Karimi-Schmidt, Anita Rinner, Alexander Soucek und Hannes Mayer geleitet wurde. Dabei haben sich die Studierenden mit nationalen wie internationalen Institutionen im Weltraum beschäftigt und die relevanten Bestimmungen des Völkerrechts, des Europarechts sowie nationalen Rechts kennen und anwenden gelernt. Zudem wurden aktuelle Entwicklungen und Herausforderungen im Weltraumsektor diskutiert.

Seit 1968 haben die Vereinten Nationen drei Konferenzen über die Erforschung und friedliche Nutzung des Weltraums in Wien abgehalten. Im Jahr 2018 findet aus Anlass des 50-jährigen Jubiläums der Konferenz UNISPACE-I in Wien die UNISPACE+50 statt. Am 14. Juni präsentierten die Studierenden ihre Poster im RESOWI-Zentrum dem Review Board der Konferenz sowie am Thema Interessierten.
