If no one else in your immediate family has gone to university, you may have a few unanswered questions, particularly when you are just starting out at uni and during the first semester. To help you make a smooth start as a first generation student you will be supported by our mentors before you arrive at uni and during your first year of study. They will help you to think about studying at university and with any decisions, and help you make a good start once you are here, so that you can develop your abilities and talents.
Peer mentoring is a partnership of equals, provided by students for other prospective and current students with the same background. It offers personalised advice and help with orientation, as well as with any questions you may have about choosing your programme of studies, registration, and organisational issues.
