Uni Graz setzt auf Open Access

Mit Anfang März fiel an der Universitätsbibliothek der Startschuss für den neuen Open Access Server „uni≡pub“. Auf diesem Publikationsserver werden wissenschaftliche Veröffentlichungen von MitarbeiterInnen der Universität Graz sowie Hochschulschriften der AbsolventInnen frei zugänglich gemacht. „Bei der Open-Access-Bewegung geht es darum, wissenschaftliche Literatur, die öffentlich gefördert wird, für die LeserInnen zur Verfügung zu stellen“, erklärt Lisa Schilhan, Projektverantwortliche an der UB Graz. Im Unterschied zu traditionellen Wegen der Veröffentlichung, bei denen viele wissenschaftliche Beiträge in kostenpflichtigen Zeitschriften publiziert werden, erlaubt der Open-Access-Gedanke einer breiteren Öffentlichkeit den Zugang zu neuesten Forschungsergebnissen. In uni≡pub erfolgreich publiziert werden bereits die an der Uni Graz herausgegebene Zeitschrift „Österreichisches Religionspädagogisches Forum“ sowie das Forschungsmazagin UNIZEIT sowie rund 60 Open Access Beiträge aus unterschiedlichen Fachgebieten. 

Einfach mitmachen

Für ForscherInnen der Uni Graz bietet die UB dazu ein neues Service an: Publikationen aus diversen Zeitschriften und Sammelwerken, sowie Monographien, können per E-Mail an ub.unipub@uni-graz.at geschickt werden. Ein Team aus Bibliothekarinnen klärt die Veröffentlichungsrechte mit den Verlagen ab und stellt diese Publikationen anschließend auf dem Server zur Verfügung. 

Für Zeitschriften die an der Universität Graz herausgegeben werden, bietet die Universitätsbibliothek darüber hinaus ein besonderes Angebot an: jede Zeitschrift bekommt einen eigenen Webauftritt mit den dazugehörigen Ausgaben. Diese sind im Volltext durchsuchbar und über Internetsuchmaschinen sowie einschlägige Datenbanken auffindbar.

Around the world in eight stops: the Long Night of Research at the University of Graz

On 24 April from 5 pm, you can take a short trip around the globe at the University of Graz, discovering pecularities of foreign countries or new local features in the entrance hall of the University Library. The itinerary takes you through introduced animal species, political attitudes and the omnipotence of algorithms. There will also be a programme in the historic reading hall, as well as at the UniGraz@Museum and the University Archive.
