Wer neu an die Uni Graz kommt um hier zu arbeiten, lehren oder zu forschen, hat naturgemäß viele Fragen. Und das meist nicht nur zum Job - auch zum Leben in Graz, Amtswegen und vielem mehr. Um neue MitarbeiterInnen in der Eingewöhnungsphase zu unterstützen, hat die Uni Graz im April 2016 ein Welcome Center eingerichtet. Koordinatorin Julia Taucher verrät im Webradio-Gespräch, mit welchen Anliegen man sich an sie wenden kann.

Außerdem hören Sie diese Woche, wie man Medikamente so designen kann, dass PatientInnen sie richtig einnehmen können, wie das Hörspiel "Die Suche nach dem Glück" des Kindercampus-Büros der Med Uni Graz Kinder und Eltern aus verschiedenen Kulturen zusammen bringt und wie Studierende eines Orchesters ihren Probenalltag erleben: Am 27. Oktober spielen sie beim Eröffnungskonzert des KUG-Hauptabonnements.

Why does the body composition of babies vary so much? Some children gain a significant amount of fat mass within a few weeks, whilst others show hardly any change over the same period. “At the same time, initial observations suggest that fat distribution in all babies may follow a similar pattern, regardless of their total body fat,” explains Marco Höfler from the Institute of Movement Sciences, Sport and Health at the University of Graz. He is coordinating the research project ‘Small Bodies – Big Questions’, for which participants are currently still being sought: pregnant women and babies up to four weeks old.
