Wie Daten künftig vernetzt werden können, beschäftigt ExpertInnen bei der Tagung "Vernetzte Welten"

Bereits zum wiederholten Mal war die Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz Gastgeberin der Tagung "Vernetzte Welten", bei der sich rund 90 ExpertInnen -vorwiegend - aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum unter anderem zu den Themen "Digitale Bibliotheken", "Speichern von Wissen" und "Vernetzung von Daten" austauschten. Veranstaltet wurde sie vom Zentrum für Informationsmodellierung - Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities gemeinsam mit ForschungspartnerInnen und Hochschulen.

In den letzten Jahren ist die Anzahl der digitalen Sammlungen in kulturellen, wissenschaftlichen und bildenden Einrichtungen sehr rasch gestiegen. Neue Technologien ermöglichen die kostengünstige Errichtung digitaler Bibliotheken, die einem breiten internationalen Publikum die Forschungsergebnisse im virtuellen Raum zugänglich machen. Fragen der Konservierung, Pflege und fachgerechten Erschließung der digitalen Sammlungen bleiben bestehen. Die geöffneten digitalen Kommunikationskanäle bieten zudem neue Möglichkeiten der Vernetzung, Kollaboration und kreativen Wiederverwendung.

Science meets blockbuster: Campus cinema at the University of Graz

A cinematic treat for the scientific community: the courtyard of the University of Graz’s main building is once again being transformed into an atmospheric open-air cinema this year. From 29 June to 10 July 2026 (Mondays to Fridays from 8.30 pm), blockbusters and documentaries will be shown on the open-air screen. Academics from the University of Graz will be taking a closer look at the films shown, examining them to distinguish fact from fiction.
