Rudi Roth förderte Studierende an der Universität Graz

Upgrade für Armenviertel, die Bedeutung patriotischer Lieder, Privatisierung und das Wissen von Industrie-ArbeiterInnen: mit diesen Themen befassen sich die jungen WissenschafterInnen, die heute mit einem Rudi-Roth-Stipendium ausgezeichnet wurden. Die Doktorandinnen Sara Božičević und Petra Hamer sowie die Masterstudenten Bardh Hoxha und Danko Simić erhielten insgesamt 9.000 Euro für Feldforschungen im Zuge ihrer Abschlussarbeiten. Überreicht wurden die Schecks von Stadtrat Günter Riegler.
Senator Konsul Rudi Roth fördert seit 2001 herausragende Studierende, die zum Themenkreis Ost- und Südosteuropa arbeiten, und hat rund 200 JungwissenschafterInnen bisher mehr als 200.000 Euro zur Verfügung gestellt. „Wir wollen, dass die Menschen in Europa in Frieden, Sicherheit und sozialem Wohlstand leben. Mir ist es ein großes Anliegen, junge Leute meiner Alma mater dabei zu unterstützen“, erklärt der erfolgreiche Unternehmer.
„Wir bedanken uns bei Rudi Roth ganz herzlich für sein Engagement. Es ist uns als Universität ein ganz großes Anliegen, unsere Studierenden zum Einsatz für die Gesellschaft zu motivieren, auch über die Landesgrenzen hinweg“, unterstrich Rektorin Christa Neuper.

Around the world in eight stops: the Long Night of Research at the University of Graz

On 24 April from 5 pm, you can take a short trip around the globe at the University of Graz, discovering pecularities of foreign countries or new local features in the entrance hall of the University Library. The itinerary takes you through introduced animal species, political attitudes and the omnipotence of algorithms. There will also be a programme in the historic reading hall, as well as at the UniGraz@Museum and the University Archive.
