Zum Welttag der russischen Sprache fragt der AirCampus: Wie wird sie als Instrument im Angriffskrieg gegen die Ukraine genutzt?

Der AirCampus, das Podcast-Portal der Grazer Universitäten, startet in eine neue Woche. Dieses Mal mit diesen vier Beiträgen:

1) Vehikel zur Macht. Russisch. Es ist nicht nur die Sprache von KünstlerInnen von Weltrang, sondern auch die von Wladimir Putin. Wie Russlands Präsident sie zum Machtausbau nutzt, klären wir zum Welttag der russischen Sprache am 1. Juni.

2) Von der Masterarbeit zur eigenen Firma. TU Graz-Absolvent Philipp Eisele stellt seinen Weg vom innovativen Getriebekonzept bis zur Kraken Innovations GmbH für die Antriebe der Zukunft vor.

3) KUG-Musiktheater. Um Tugend oder das, was darunter zu verstehen ist, geht es in Benjamin Brittens komischer Oper „Albert Herring“. Ein Stück, das auf humorvolle und ironische Weise die kleinbürgerliche Spießmoral eines fiktiven Provinznestes entlarvt. Ab dem 4. Juni im MUMUTH der KUG zu erleben.

4) Teamplayer Radioonkologie. Thomas Brunner wurde vor Kurzem zum Professor für Strahlentherapie-Radioonkologie an die Med Uni Graz berufen. In seiner Antrittsvorlesung hat er darüber gesprochen, dass die Strahlentherapie ein echter Teamplayer ist. Warum? Das hört ihr im Interview!

Was ist der AirCampus?
Das Podcast-Projekt der vier Grazer Universitäten versorgt MitarbeiterInnen, Studierende sowie alle Interessierten das ganze Studienjahr über mit wissenswerten Infos aus der Welt der Forschung, aus dem Bildungsbereich und dem Campusleben der Universität Graz, Technischen Universität Graz, Medizinischen Universität Graz und Kunstuniversität Graz.

Früher als "Webradio" bekannt, gibt es auf der Website http://www.aircampus-graz.at auch alle Podcasts, die vor dem 2. Oktober 2017 publiziert wurden, im Archiv zum Nachhören. Uns gibt es übrigens auch auf Spotify und Apple Podcasts! Die Initiative erhielt 2012 den Inge-Morath-Preis des Landes Steiermark, 2017 den PR-Panther in der Kategorie "Wissenschaft" und 2018 den Green Panther in der Kategorie Online Kommunikation.

Whilst mobile phones are increasingly being banned from the classroom, social media platforms, apps and AI are playing an ever-greater role in knowledge transfer at school. But how can teaching with media be made even more effective? What are the challenges in media-based teaching? At the University of Graz, researchers are discussing these issues at a conference being held in Austria for the first time.

Jurassic Sounds: Biologist reconstructs insect songs from 165 million years ago

It was apparently not just the roars of the dinosaurs that made up the soundscape of the animal world during the Jurassic period. Crickets and grasshoppers communicated through a variety of songs and high-pitched sounds, as Thorin Jonsson from the Institute of Biology at the University of Graz discovered together with colleagues from the universities of Lincoln, Bristol (UK), Beijing (China) and Tempe (USA). The findings on what are so far the oldest traces of sound on Earth have just been published in the journal PNAS.
