Wenn die Arbeit zu belastend wird, helfen kurze Auszeiten. Die Uni Graz erforscht, wie man am besten Pause macht.

Uni Graz sucht TeilnehmerInnen für wissenschaftliche Studie

Die Arbeit stapelt sich, man ist gestresst und fühlt sich ausgepowert. Wenn wir zu hohe Belastungen nicht mehr durch genügend Erholung ausgleichen können, ist die Gefahr auszubrennen groß. „Kurze Auszeiten zur rechten Zeit helfen unserer Gesundheit und wirken außerdem leistungssteigernd“, weiß Mag. Kerstin Eibel vom Institut für Psychologie der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz. Wie man Pausen am besten nutzt, ist auch Gegenstand einer aktuellen Studie, für die die WissenschafterInnen noch ProbandInnen suchen. Die Untersuchung findet nach persönlicher Vereinbarung an zwei Nachmittagen am Institut für Psychologie statt. Über mehrere Stunden werden arbeitsrelevante Leistungsmaße erhoben und ein psycho-physiologisches Monitoring durchgeführt. Dabei wird über Maße wie die Herztätigkeit (EKG) beobachtet, wie erholsam unterschiedliche Pausen auf den Körper wirken. Die TeilnehmerInnen erhalten Feedback über ihre persönliche Leistungs- und Erholungsfähigkeit.

Around the world in eight stops: the Long Night of Research at the University of Graz

On 24 April from 5 pm, you can take a short trip around the globe at the University of Graz, discovering pecularities of foreign countries or new local features in the entrance hall of the University Library. The itinerary takes you through introduced animal species, political attitudes and the omnipotence of algorithms. There will also be a programme in the historic reading hall, as well as at the UniGraz@Museum and the University Archive.
