Uni Graz nimmt weitere Photovoltaik-Anlage in Betrieb

Energie aus Kraft der Sonne – nachhaltig und lautlos: Die Universität Graz verfolgt die Strategie, Warmwasser und Strom auf sauberem Weg zu gewinnen. Solarthermieanlagen sorgen seit vielen Jahren in der Aigner-Rollett-Allee 11 (USZ) und am Universitätsplatz 1 für das richtige Raum-Klima, auf den Dächern der Universitätsbibliothek sowie des Wall-Gebäudes wurden im Rahmen der Sanierungen bereits Photovoltaik-Module montiert.

Kürzlich wurde eine weitere Anlage in Betrieb genommen. Die Paneele in der Heinrichstraße 36 liefern auf 256,6 Quadratmetern bei idealen Bedingungen rund 56 Kilowatt-Peak (kWp) – das sind rund 56000 Kilowattstunden pro Jahr, das ist der jährliche Verbrauch von 14 Einfamilienhäusern mit vier Personen. Der Strom wird direkt in das Energienetz der Universität eingespeist. Auch am Trainings- und Diagnostikzentrum am Rosenhain ist kürzlich eine PV-Anlage montiert worden.

Und es wird weiter investiert. In Planung sind Anlagen in der Mozartgasse 14, am RESOWI-Gebäude, Universitätsplatz 4 und Graz Center of Physics. Die Universität möchte bis 2030 insgesamt 1831 kWp an Strom selbst erzeugen – so viel wie etwa 460 Einfamilienhäuser jährlich.
