Europäischer Tag der Sprachen am 26. September

Die Vielfalt von Sprache und Kulturen verstehen und erfassen - das ist Ziel des Europäischen Tag der Sprachen, der heuer am 26. September auf der Murinsel begangen wird. "An diesem Tag sind alle EuropäerInnen eingeladen, die Mehrsprachigkeit zu feiern und verschiedene Sprachen unabhängig von Alter und Vorbildung zu lernen", erklärt Mag. Ursula Newby vom Verein Europäischen Fremdsprachenzentrum.

Es ist Teil des Sprachennetzwerk Graz, in dem auch die Karl-Franzens-Universität mit dem Institut für Theoretische und Angewandte Translationswissenschaft (ITAT), den Instituten für Anglistik, Amerikanistik, Romanistik und Slawistik, mit dem Fachdidaktikzentrum der Geisteswissenschaftlichen Fakultät sowie treffpunkt sprachen - Zentrum für Sprache, Plurilingualismus und Fachdidaktik vertreten ist.

treffpunkt sprachen ist mit der Ausstellung „Sprachenlandschaft Deluxe" auf der Murinsel vertrteten und Studierende des ITAT werden außerdem bei der Pressekonferenz in Englisch und Gebärdensprache dolmetschen.

Around the world in eight stops: the Long Night of Research at the University of Graz

On 24 April from 5 pm, you can take a short trip around the globe at the University of Graz, discovering pecularities of foreign countries or new local features in the entrance hall of the University Library. The itinerary takes you through introduced animal species, political attitudes and the omnipotence of algorithms. There will also be a programme in the historic reading hall, as well as at the UniGraz@Museum and the University Archive.
