AirCampus-Podcast: Social Media-Check als neues Feature auf der Excellence-Messe am 5. November

Die Podcast-Plattform der Grazer Universtitäten, der AirCampus, präsentiert in dieser Woche Wissens-Beiträge zu folgenden Themen:

1) Social Media im Check: Der perfekte Online-Auftritt wird bei Bewerbungsgesprächen immer wichtiger. Bei der diesjährigen Excellence-Karrieremesse am 5. November prüfen ExpertInnen erstmals Social-Media-Profile und geben Tipps und Verbesserungsvorschläge.

2) Weiterbildung nach Maß: Das Life Long Learning der TU Graz bietet mit rund 40 berufsbegleitenden Seminaren, Kursen, Lehrgängen und Masterprogrammen auch 2020 wieder ein zielgerichtetes universitäres Weiterbildungsangebot mit spannenden neuen sowie erfolgreich bewährten Kursen.

3) Druckfrisch: Knochenimplantate bei Bedarf rasch und maßgenau direkt in der Klinik drucken - das könnte bald zum medizinischen Standard werden. An der Med Uni Graz gibt es seit Kurzem zwei solche 3D-Druckgeräte, die die Wartezeit für PatientInnen künftig erheblich verkürzen werden.

4) Handgemachte Musikkunst: "Vive la France!" Unter diesem Motto gibt das spanische Klavierduo Maite Leon und Anton Dolgov am 7. November mit dem Orchester der Kunstuniversität Graz ein besonderes Konzert. Auf dem Programm stehen Werke von Francis Poulenc, Maurice Ravel und Hector Berlioz.

Was ist der AirCampus?
Das Podcast-Projekt der vier Grazer Universitäten versorgt MitarbeiterInnen, Studierende sowie alle Interessierten das ganze Studienjahr über mit wissenswerten Infos aus der Welt der Forschung, aus dem Bildungsbereich und dem Campusleben der Karl-Franzens-Universität, Technischen Universität, Medizinischen Universität und Kunstuniversität. Früher als "Webradio" bekannt, gibt es auf der Website http://www.aircampus-graz.at auch alle Podcasts, die vor dem 2. Oktober 2017 publiziert wurden, im Archiv zum Nachhören. Uns gibt es übrigens auch auf Spotify und iTunes!

Die Initiative erhielt 2012 den Inge-Morath-Preis des Landes Steiermark, 2017 den PR-Panther in der Kategorie "Wissenschaft" und 2018 den Green Panther in der Kategorie Online Kommunikation.

Building biological bridges: Chemist discovers an ecological tool for the pharmaceutical industry

Building a relationship on a solid foundation is also important in chemistry. To produce medicines, disinfectants or plant protection products, stable bonds between carbon atoms must be formed. Conventional chemical methods rely on environmentally harmful reagents and solvents to carry out the desired reaction. This process also produces unusable by-products. Chemist Lilla Gal has discovered an enzyme that enables the same process to take place efficiently and sustainably. The results of her research were recently published in the prestigious journal Angewandte Chemie.

Higher Education Strategy 2040: Austria’s universities on course for the future

Austria has 77 higher education institutions, which is above the EU average – but does this really make sense? The new Higher Education Strategy 2040 focuses on cooperation rather than mergers. As one of the six largest universities in Austria, the University of Graz plays a central role in this.
