Warum auch die Katholische Kirche über neue Geldquellen nachdenken muss, erklärt Kirchenrechtsexpertin Sabine Konrad

Der Katholischen Kirche droht ein finanzielles Dilemma. Die Austritte werden mehr, die Einnahmen weniger. Der Rückgang an Beiträgen wird sich zwangsläufig auf die Infrastruktur auswirken. Denn nicht nur SeelsorgerInnen, Verwaltungspersonal und Renovierungen müssen bezahlt werden. Auch Bildungs- und Pflege- sowie karitative Einrichtungen brauchen Geld. Sabine Konrad, Expertin für Kirchenrecht, will der Glaubensinstitution auf die Sprünge helfen, wie sie neue Geldquellen anzapfen und in Zukunft finanziell über die Runden kommen kann.
„Es braucht kreative Lösungen“, bestätigt Sabine Konrad. „Zum Beispiel könnte man auf den Erwerb von Immobilien setzen.“ Durch die Mieten fließe Geld wieder zurück. Bestehende Räumlichkeiten stärker an externe InteressentInnen, etwa Bildungsinstitutionen, zu vermieten, wäre eine weitere Einnahmequelle.
