Martin Polaschek to become Minister of Education, Peter Riedler will take over.

The government reshuffle has direct consequences for the University of Graz. Rector Martin Polaschek is to become the new Minister of Education. His deputy, Vice Rector Peter Riedler, will take over the management of the University on an interim basis: Through his outstanding work for our alma mater, he is predestined for the office of Minister of Education. I congratulate him warmly and wish him all the best for his new task."
Martin Polaschek was Vice Rector for Studies and Teaching at the University of Graz from 2003 to 2019 and was elected Rector in 2019. Peter Riedler was Vice Rector for Finance, Resources and Site Development from 2011 and additionally took over the personnel agendas in 2019.
