Multikulti-Ball on June 20th

Colourful clothes, a concert of languages and a rich diversity of cultures: On June 20th, the “Multikulti Ball” changes the campus of the University of Graz into a festival stage. Tickets are available at the “Uni Shop” (RESOWI Centre) as well as at the porter’s lodges in the Main Building and in Wall Centre. Students pay 23 Euros; the standard price is 48 Euros.

Guests who do not only want to dance but would also like to enjoy the culinary side of the event, may purchase a ticket including a gourmet pass – a novelty this year. Students pay 40 Euros for it, all other guests 65 Euros. This pass comprises four delicious treats from freely selectable gourmet booths.
A hot summer night with a carousel and a playground, guests from a hundred nations and a varied programme, designed among others by the LaStrada-Team as well as Sandy Lopicic. Balkan and circus music, jazz and folk music mix with the extraordinary programme of star pianist Markus Schirmer, the Styrian sounds of “Brauch:tanz”, the dance tunes of the “Grazer Salonorchester”, the African beats of Insingizi and  Ramadu & The Afro-Vibes Band and, of course, the Balkan sounds of the  Sandy Lopicic Superstvar Orchestra.

The Nazi elite school Napola: Historian seeks memories and personal documents

They were to be brought up to become the future elite of National Socialism: boys and girls aged ten and over who, following the ‘Anschluss’ of Austria to the German Reich, attended a so-called Napola (short for Nationalpolitische Lehranstalt; also known as NPEA, Nationalpolitische Erziehungsanstalt).
