Neue Veranstaltungsreihe an der REWI-Fakultät am Start

Konflikte bereits im Gespräch lösen: Alternative Streitbeilegungsmechanismen wie die Mediation gewinnen in unserer Gesellschaft immer größere Bedeutung. Die Bandbreite ihrer Einsatzmöglichkeiten reicht von Familienkonflikten, Ehescheidungsverfahren, Nachbarschafts- sowie Mietstreitigkeiten, Raumplanungskonzepten, Umweltkonflikten bei Standort- und Infrastrukturfragen bis hin zur Wirtschaftsmediation mit ihren zahlreichen Facetten.

An der Rechtswissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Universität Graz setzt sich das Forschungsfeld Mediation@Uni Graz mit zentralen Themen dieses Vermittlungsverfahrens auseinander. Neben Forschungsansätzen steht vor allem die Aus-und Weiterbildung zu MediatorInnen im Vordergrund. In einer monatlichen Vortragsreihe, die am kommenden Montag, den 10. Februar 2014, an der Uni Graz startet, rückt die REWI-Fakultät das aktuelle Thema „Familiengerichtshilfe“ in den Fokus der Diskussion.

Universität verbindet Forschung mit Praxis
Dabei möchte die Universität eine Brücke zur Praxis schlagen. „Mit dem ständig wachsenden Angebot an Weiterbildungsmöglichkeiten im Bereich Mediation an unserer Universität können unsere Studierenden noch mehr Schlüsselqualifikationen erwerben“, weiß Assoz. Prof. Dr. Sascha Ferz, Jurist an der Uni Graz und Leiter des Zentrums für Soziale Kompetenz. Derzeit bietet das Zentrum für Soziale Kompetenz und auch die Fakultät Lehrveranstaltungen zu dem Bereich an. Einen eigenen Universitätslehrgang bietet Uni for Life dazu an.

Bei der Auftaktveranstaltung am kommenden Montag, die unter dem Thema „Vielfalt – wer hilft Familien? Familiengerichtshilfe im Fokus“ steht, werden zwei VertreterInnen der Familiengerichtshilfe über die Organisation, den Aufbau und die Arbeitsabläufe in der Praxis berichten. Eine Vertreterin aus der Anwaltschaft wird ebenfalls ihre Tätigkeit vorstellen. Organisiert wird es von Mediation@Uni Graz, dem Grazer Netzwerk Mediation und dem Verband Steirischer Rechtsanwalts-Mediatoren. Im Anschluss ist eine Diskussion geplant.

Around the world in eight stops: the Long Night of Research at the University of Graz

On 24 April from 5 pm, you can take a short trip around the globe at the University of Graz, discovering pecularities of foreign countries or new local features in the entrance hall of the University Library. The itinerary takes you through introduced animal species, political attitudes and the omnipotence of algorithms. There will also be a programme in the historic reading hall, as well as at the UniGraz@Museum and the University Archive.
