USI ehrte erfolgreiche SportlerInnen der akademischen Meisterschaften

Aufs Podest wurden erfolgreiche SportlerInnen am 25. Juni 2014 bei der Siegerehrung des Universitäts-Sport-Instituts (USI) in der Aula der Uni Graz geholt. Mehr als 250 TeilnehmerInnen der akademischen Meisterschaften sowohl in der Steiermark als auch österreichweit freuten sich über die Ehrung. Die Medaillen und weitere Auszeichnungen überreichte eine prominent besetzte Gästeschar, darunter Uni-Rektorin Christa Neuper, TU-Vizerektor Bischof, Leobener USI-Leiterin Ulla Burghardt sowie Sport-Stadtrat Kurt Hohensinner.

USI-Leiter Gert Bernat verwies auf den akademischen Sportsgeist: Insgesamt waren 1500 TeilnehmerInnen bei allen 28 steirischen akademischen Meisterschaften im Studienjahr 2013/14 dabei.
Zudem standen sportbegeisterten Studierende, MitarbeiterInnen und AbsolventInnen der Grazer Universitäten und Fachhochschulen mehr als 300 Kurse zur Verfügung.
Sportsgeist ist auch heute, am 27. Juni 2014, um 17 Uhr wieder gefragt. Beim mittlerweile 30. Kleeblattlauf stehen rund 3.000 Begeisterte am Start, um nach dem Sprint über den Rosenhain das kultige T-Shirt als Trophäe zu erhalten.
