Im Fokus des Lehrpreises 2015/2016 steht dieses Mal „Internationalisierung im Lernen & Lehren“.

Vor knapp vier Wochen hat die Uni Graz hervorragende Lehrende rund um das Thema Kooperation ausgezeichnet. >> Mehr Info. Und es werden schon die Nominees für die nächste Auszeichnungsrunde gesucht, in der besonders engagierte Lehrende des gerade laufenden Studienjahres 2015/2016 prämiert werden.

Im Fokus steht dieses Mal „Internationalisierung im Lernen & Lehren“. In einer Einrichtung für Lehre und Forschung, wie sie die Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz darstellt, spiegelt sich kulturelle Vielfalt in Studierendenschaft und Lehrpersonal wider. Interkulturelle Kompetenzen werden im Uni-Alltag ebenso erworben wie Fremdsprachenkenntnisse, und beides ist auch für die (außer)wissenschaftliche Arbeit unerlässlich. Aber auch das Wissen über international relevante Fragestellungen, Thematiken und Problemlösungen ist in einer globalisierten Welt unverzichtbar. Der Lehrpreis 2015/16 macht sich zum Ziel, ebensolche und weitere mit dem Fokus Internationalisierung in Zusammenhang stehende Lehrkonzepte sichtbar zu machen und besonders beeindruckende Beispiele auszuzeichnen.

Eingereicht werden können Lehrveranstaltungen (mit Ausnahme von Privatissima und DiplomandInnen-/DissertantInnenseminaren), die im Studienjahr 2015/16 in einem ordentlichen Studium an der Universität Graz abgehalten wurden.
Nominieren können Gruppen von mindestens drei Studierenden, die eine von ihnen besuchte Lehrveranstaltung vorschlagen. Außerdem können Lehrende ihre eigenen Lehrveranstaltungen, Cuko-Vorsitzende sowie (Vize-)StudiendekanInnen nennen.

Der Lehrpreis wird dann wieder im Wintersemester, voraussichtlich im November 2016, am „Tag der Lehre“ vom Vizerektor für Studium und Lehre verliehen.

Rescue and risks: Researchers have surveyed public perceptions of AI

The use of artificial intelligence has had to be made transparent since 2 August 2026. The EU’s AI Act, which has been in force since then, also sets out how risky an application is and which security measures apply as a result. However, the assessment of risks by the legislation differs in some cases significantly from the perceptions of the Austrian public. This is the finding of a representative study carried out by data scientist Stefan Thalmann from the University of Graz and his team.

Chronic inflammation plays a key role in many diseases, ranging from metabolic disorders and cardiovascular diseases to tissue damage following injuries or infections. “Normally, the body is able to resolve inflammation on its own. If this process becomes unbalanced, immune cells remain permanently active and continue to drive negative changes in the tissue,” explains Andreas Koeberle, a pharmacist at the University of Graz.
