Der Präsident des Verfassungsgerichtshofs des Kosovo war einer der renommierten Gäste der REWI-Fakultät

Wie kann der Kosovo intensiver an internationalen Organisationen, insbesondere dem Europarat, beteiligt werden? Wie können internationale Kooperation unter Einbezug des Kosovo gestärkt werden? Diesen und ähnlichen Fragen ging vergangene Woche ein Workshop an der Karl-Franzens-Universität nach, der von den juridischen Fakultäten der Universitäten Graz und Pristina veranstaltet wurde. Seitens der Uni Graz zeichnete Univ.-Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Benedek vom Institut für Völkerrecht und Internationale Beziehungen für die Veranstaltung mit dem Titel "Kosovo als ein Mitglied der internationalen Gemeinschaft – Beitritt zu internationalen Organisationen" verantwortlich. 

 

An der hochrangig besetzten Veranstaltung nahmen unter anderem Hajredin Kuci, Vize-Premierminister und Justizminister des Kosovo, Albert Prenkaj, Generaldirektor des Ministeriums für Auswärtige Angelegenheiten, Enver Hasani, Präsident des Verfassungsgerichtshofs des Kosovo und Ulrike Lunacek, Berichterstatterin des Europäischen Parlaments für Kosovo, teil.

 

Darüber hinaus leisteten auch amerikanische ExpertInnen, wie Prof. Fred L. Morison der Universität Minnesota und Prof. Ronald A. Brand der Universität Pittsburgh, fachliche Beiträge. Von österreichischer Seite besuchten REWI-Dekan Joseph Marko, Prof. Hubert Isak und der Balkan-Experte Univ.-Prof. Dr. Florian Bieber den Workshop.

Bei dieser Gelegenheit wurde auch die neue albanische Fassung des von  Wolfgang Benedek für das ETC Graz herausgegebenen Handbuchs für Menschenrechtsbildung, das derzeit bereits in mehr als 15 Sprachen weltweit im Einsatz steht, präsentiert. Wolfgang Benedek und Dekan Marko erhielten außerdem Anerkennungen des kosovarischen Verfassungsgerichtshofes.

Yet this is precisely where the medical promise of her research lies: one day, clinical data will be used to create a digital twin of the heart – a virtual model that will enable a better understanding of diseases and allow for more personalised treatment plans. She will be presenting her research at the ‘ECMTB 2026’ mathematics conference.
