Gleichstellung wird belohnt!

Gleichstellung wird von der Uni Graz belohnt: Die Vorsitzende des Arbeitskreises für Gleichbehandlungsfragen Katharina Scherke, der Dekan der Naturwissenschaftlichen Fakultäten Karl Crailsheim, Arno Heimgartner, Institut für Bildungs- und Erziehungswissenschaften, Johanna Rolshoven, Institut für Volkskunde und Kulturanthropologie, Sabine Tausend, Institut für Alte Geschichte und Altertumskunde, Nikolaus Reisinger, Institut für Geschichte, sowie Vizerektorin Renate Dworczak.

Auszeichnung von drei Wissenschaftszweigen gemäß Anreizsystem für Frauenförderung

Die Uni Graz zeichnete kürzlich wieder jene Wissenschaftszweige aus, welche die besten Einstiegs- und Aufstiegschancen bieten. Dabei kommt dem Nachwuchs eine zentrale Bedeutung zu: Die Geschlechterverteilung soll von Studierenden zu Nachwuchs sowie von Nachwuchs zu Habilitierten/ProfessorInnen gehalten werden. Wichtig ist bei Einstieg und Aufstieg beiden Geschlechtern ausgewogene Chancen zu bieten; die 40 Prozent Quote allein reicht nicht aus.

Den ersten Platz konnte der Wissenschaftszweig "Erziehungswissenschaft" erreichen, Geschichte ist am zweiten Platz. Die Psychologie kommt knapp dahinter auf den dritten Platz.

Wirklich deutlich werden die finanziellen Effekte bei der Gleichstellungsmillion! Vizerektorin Renate Dworczak stellte ausführlich die Indikatoren und Bedeutung der sogenannten Gleichstellungsmillion für die Fakultäten und Wissenschaftszweige dar. Dabei wird eine Million des Gesamtbudgets der Universität Graz über Indikatoren der Gleichstellung und Berücksichtigung von Gender Studies verteilt.

Around the world in eight stops: the Long Night of Research at the University of Graz

On 24 April from 5 pm, you can take a short trip around the globe at the University of Graz, discovering pecularities of foreign countries or new local features in the entrance hall of the University Library. The itinerary takes you through introduced animal species, political attitudes and the omnipotence of algorithms. There will also be a programme in the historic reading hall, as well as at the UniGraz@Museum and the University Archive.
