Uni Graz startet neue Vortragsreihe

Als größte Bildungseinrichtung der Steiermark hat die Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz ein Maßnahmenpaket geschnürt, um AsylwerberInnen und anerkannte Flüchtlinge bei der Integration zu unterstützen und ihnen Zugang zu Bildung zu ermöglichen. Die Angebote richten sich aber nicht nur an die Zielgruppe selbst, sondern aufgrund der besonderen gesellschaftlichen Relevanz auch an eine breite interessierte Öffentlichkeit. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Irmtraud Fischer, Sprecherin des Clusters „Gender“ innerhalb des Forschungsschwerpunkts Heterogenität und Kohäsion, hat eine neue Vortragsreihe ins Leben gerufen mit dem Ziel, die gesellschaftliche Aufgabe der Integration von Flüchtlingen und Asylsuchenden aus anderen Kulturkreisen in westliche Genderdemokratien zu thematisieren.

„Die Universität als Bildungsinstitution hat die Aufgabe, gesellschaftliche Probleme in ihrer gesamten Breite aufzugreifen und nüchtern zu diskutieren. Diese für eine breite Öffentlichkeit konzipierte Vortragsreihe widmet sich der drängenden Aufgabe der Integration und beleuchtet geschlechterspezifische Aspekte von Flucht, Asyl und Leben in einem demokratischen Staat mit Gleichberechtigung der Geschlechter, Religionsfreiheit und Diskriminierungsverboten in Bezug auf Alter, sexuelle Orientierung, Ethnizität und körperliche wie psychische Beeinträchtigung“, unterstreicht Fischer. Geplant sind zwei öffentliche Veranstaltungen pro Semester bei freiem Eintritt.

In der Auftaktveranstaltung mit dem Titel „Frauen auf der Flucht“ am 17. Dezember 2015 ab 19 Uhr behandeln die RechtwissenschafterInnen Mag. Lisa Maria Heschl, MA, und Ass.-Prof. Dr. Thomas Schoditsch genderspezifische Aspekte von Asyl und Integration aus rechtlicher Sicht. Am 21. Jänner 2016 analysiert Prof. Dr. Gulmiza Seitalieva, Gastforscherin aus Kirgisistan, ab 19 Uhr den Einfluss von Religion auf Frauenrechte am speziellen Beispiel islamischer Gesellschaften.

Rescue and risks: Researchers have surveyed public perceptions of AI

The EU’s AI Act, which has been in force since then, also sets out how risky an application is and which security measures apply as a result. However, the assessment of risks by the legislation differs in some cases significantly from the perceptions of the Austrian public.
