Große Karrieremesse EXCELLENCE am 6. November 2018 im Hauptgebäude

Zwar weiß ich viel, doch möcht` ich alles wissen, schreibt schon Johann Goethe in seinem „Faust“. Ein Studium an der Universität Graz ist die beste Basis für eine erfolgreiche Karriere. Doch im Berufsleben wird mehr gefordert als Fachwissen. Und genau diese Persönlichkeitsentwicklung wird an der Uni Graz vorangetrieben: Bei der Karrieremesse EXCELLENCE am 6. November 2018 haben Studierende und AbsolventInnen wieder die Möglichkeit Kontakte zu zukünftigen ArbeitgeberInnen zu knüpfen und interessante Praktikastellen in Erfahrung zu bringen.

“Your time to shine!” ist das Motto der diesjährigen EXCELLENCE. Nach dem großen Erfolg der letzten Jahre mit über 2500 BesucherInnen präsentieren sich auch heuer wieder rund 70 Institutionen in der Aula. Neben Informationsständen wird es auch Vorträge, AbsolventInnen-Gespräche und Podiumsdiskussionen geben. Die TeilnehmerInnen können in einer LIVE-Simulation ein Bewerbungsgespräch absolvieren und kostenlos ein Bewerbungsfoto von sich machen lassen. „Aktuelle Trends und Entwicklungen abfragen, von arrivierten Profis lernen, sich mit Gleichgesinnten austauschen sowie sich ein Bild von der Gegenwart machen, um für die Zukunft bereit zu sein – diese Möglichkeiten bietet die Universität Graz das ganz Jahr hindurch, hinsichtlich Karriere-Fragen aber besonders auf der EXCELLENCE-Messe“, so Rektorin Christa Neuper.

Rescue and risks: Researchers have surveyed public perceptions of AI

The use of artificial intelligence has had to be made transparent since 2 August 2026. The EU’s AI Act, which has been in force since then, also sets out how risky an application is and which security measures apply as a result. However, the assessment of risks by the legislation differs in some cases significantly from the perceptions of the Austrian public. This is the finding of a representative study carried out by data scientist Stefan Thalmann from the University of Graz and his team.

Chronic inflammation plays a key role in many diseases, ranging from metabolic disorders and cardiovascular diseases to tissue damage following injuries or infections. “Normally, the body is able to resolve inflammation on its own. If this process becomes unbalanced, immune cells remain permanently active and continue to drive negative changes in the tissue,” explains Andreas Koeberle, a pharmacist at the University of Graz.
