Das kleinste Rennauto der Welt wurde zum größten Forschungserfolg gewählt

Im April gewann Leonhard Grill vom Institut für Chemie mit seiner Arbeitsgruppe das erste Nano-Rennen der Welt. Der in Graz und den USA konstruierte Bolide, der aus einem einzigen Molekül besteht, schlug die „Autos“ der anderen fünf Teams um Stunden. Ziel des kuriosen Bewerbs war es zu zeigen, was Mini-Maschinen in Zukunft alles leisten könnten. Nun fuhr die hochwissenschaftliche Konstruktion für das Team der Uni Graz einen zweiten Sieg ein: das Journal der renommiertesten Chemie-Gesellschaft der Welt, der American Chemical Society, wählte sie zum „Research of the Year“.

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.
