Ein erfolgreiches Webradio-Studienjahr ist zu Ende: Ein Rückblick

120 Beiträge in 30 Sendungen: Das Webradio der Grazer Universitäten beschloss vergangene Woche ein weiteres erfolgreiches Studienjahr. Das Webradio-Team, bestehend aus 12 studentischen freien MitarbeiterInnen und vier PressereferentInnen der Uni Graz, TU Graz, Kunstuni und Med Uni Graz, hat auch heuer wieder viel Wissenswertes aus der Welt der Universitäten zusammengetragen.

Die Beiträge bleiben weiterhin auf http://webradio.uni-graz.at gespeichert und stehen dort auch zum Download bereit. Hier präsentierten wir ein "Best Of" der Uni-Graz-Beiträge aus dem Studienjahr 2013/2014:

 

Forschung: Der Große Krieg in der Steiermark - Der Historiker Helmut Konrad spricht anlässlich des heurigen Gedenkjahres zum 100-jährigen Ausbruch des   Ersten Weltkriegs über Graz in den Jahren 1914 bis 1918 und welche Parallelen sich zum Jahr 2014 ziehen lassen.

 

Bildung: Das Ende der Blockade - Bei der "Langen Nacht der aufgeschobenen Seminararbeiten" wurde Studierenden gezeigt, wie sie ihren Schreibblockaden ein Ende setzen können. Außerdem präsentierte das heuer neu gegründete Schreibzentrum sein Serviceangebot.

 

Campusleben: Sommer am Campus - An der Karl-Franzens-Universität ist auch nach Semesterschluss viel los! Sommerschule Seggau, Sommerkinderuni, Schnupperuni und vieles mehr: Wir geben einen Überblick über die wichtigsten Events des Sommers 2014.

 

Aktuell Gefragt: Sieg mit Fliege - Martin Moder, Molekularbiologe der Uni Wien, ist der Gewinner des ersten Styrian Science Slam: Mit seiner Performance im Fliegenkostüm erklärte er dem begeisterten Publikum überzeugend, warum Fruchtfliegen wichtige Beiträge zur Krebsforschung leisten können. Mittlerweile ist Moder sogar Europa-Sieger! Das Webradio war bei seinem Graz-Auftritt mit dabei.

 

Mit März 2014 wurde auch eine Kooperation mit Radio Soundportal für das Kalenderjahr beschlossen, die seitdem erfolgreich über die Bühne geht: Zwei Mal täglich werden die Webradio-Beiträge auch steiermarkweit analog gesendet. 

 

Das Webradio der Grazer Universitäten produziert wieder aktuell ab dem 29. September 2014. Wir wünschen allen HörerInnen einen schönen Sommer!

Das Webradio der Grazer Universitäten liefert jeden Montag, ab 9 Uhr, vier neue Beiträge rund um das Geschehen an allen Grazer Universitäten, die auf http://webradio.uni-graz.at online zu hören sind bzw. zum Download bereit stehen.


Natürlich stehen alle Beiträge - bis zurück zum Start des Webradios als Einzelprojekt an der Uni Graz im Oktober 2009 - auch im online Archiv zum Nachhören zur Verfügung.

How formulas are making medicine more personalised

When Federica Caforio talks about the heart, it doesn’t sound like an operating theatre, but rather like equations, parameters and simulations. Yet this is precisely where the medical promise of her research lies: one day, clinical data will be used to create a digital twin of the heart – a virtual model that will enable a better understanding of diseases and allow for more personalised treatment plans. She will be presenting her research at the ‘ECMTB 2026’ mathematics conference.
