Alumni-Chapter Berlin: Rektorin Neuper, Georg Locher, Alumni-Geschäftsführerin Beatrice Weinelt und AbsolventInnen der Uni Graz

Uni Graz eröffnete neues Alumni-Chapter in der deutschen Hauptstadt

Berliner Luft atmete Ende September eine Delegation der Uni Graz – mit Rektorin Christa Neuper an der Spitze. Bei zahlreichen Gesprächen wurden bestehende Kooperationen verdichtet.
Unter anderem verbindet die Uni Graz mit der Freien Universität Berlin eine wissenschaftliche Zusammenarbeit in den Fachbereichen Wirtschaftswissenschaften, Volkswirtschaft, Geowissenschaften, Chemie, Molekulare Biowissenschaften. Andere ForscherInnen kooperieren mit KollegInnen der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin – zum Beispiel in den Disziplinen Physik, Sozialwissenschaften, Europäische Ethnologie und Kulturanthropologie.

 

AbsolventInnen unterm Brandenburger Tor
Im Rahmen der Stipp-Visite in der deutschen Hauptstadt wurde das Chapter Berlin, die mittlerweile achte internationale Außenstelle des AbsolventInnen-Netzwerks alumni UNI graz, aus der Taufe gehoben. Rektorin Neuper unterstrich in ihren Begrüßungsworten vor allem die Signifikanz der Chapter als weltweites Botschaftersystem der Universität Graz.
Betreut wird die Einrichtung von Dr. Georg Locher, dem Leiter des österreichischen Kulturforums in Berlin. Der Geschichte-Absolvent hat diese ehrenamtliche Aufgabe, wie er in seiner Begrüßung betonte, aus Verbundenheit seiner Universität gegenüber angenommen.
Gefeiert wurde die Neugründung auch beim anschließenden Steiermark-Abend in der Österreichischen Botschaft. Als Gastgeber fungierten der Österreichische Botschafter Ralph Scheide, Landtagspräsident Franz Majcen, der steirische Wissenschaftslandesrat Christopher Drexler sowie die drei RektorInnen Neuper, Harald Kainz (TU Graz) und Wilfried Eichelseder (Monatanuni) sowie Med Uni-Vzerektorin Irmgard Theresia Lippe.
