LH Franz Voves überreichte Karl Kumpfmüller das Ehrenkreuz in der Aula der Universität

Ehrenkreuz an Friedens- und Entwicklungsforscher Karl Kumpfmüller verliehen

Hohe Auszeichnung: In einem festlichen Akt wurde in Aula der Karl Franzens Universität in Graz dem Friedens- und Entwicklungsforscher Dr. Karl Kumpfmüller, MA das Österreichische Ehrenkreuz für Wissenschaft und Kunst verliehen. Landeshauptmann Franz Voves hat diese Auszeichnung vorgenommen. Mit dabei waren unter anderem auch der Präsident des Österreichischen Roten Kreuzes, Gerald Schöpfer, Vizerektor für Studium und Lehre Martin Polaschek und der Grazer Altbürgermeister Alfred Stingl.

Landeshauptmann Franz Voves gratulierte dem Geehrten in der Festansprache: „Um es mit Kumpfmüllers Worten zu sagen ,Friedenspolitik muss immer unparteiisch sein'. Friede ist kein starres Gebilde. Er ist vielmehr eine dynamische Entwicklung. Karl Kumpfmüller leistet mit seiner wissenschaftlichen Forschung und seinem Engagement einen großartigen Beitrag zu friedenspolitischen Entwicklungen." Kumpfmüller selbst bedankte sich in einer Rede und referierte über „50 Jahre persönliche und internationale Entwicklung".
