Der Historiker sprach über die Pogromnacht 1938, die auch in Graz ihre Spuren hinterließ

Besonders beleuchtete er, wie die Gesellschaft aus der Geschichte lernte

Historiker Helmut Konrad erzählte über die Pogromnacht 1938

"Es waren dramatische Szenen, die sich in der Nacht von 8. auf den 9. November 1938 auch in Graz zugetragen haben." Mit diesem Satz begann O. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Helmut Konrad seine "Gedanken zum Gedenken" zur Pogromnacht 1938. Der renommierte Grazer Zeithistoriker folgte der Einladung der 7. fakultät zu "Wissensdurst - der Wissenschaftsviertelstunde im Pub" und sprach vor einem bis auf den letzten Platz gefüllten Gastraum im Brot & Spiele über die tragischen Ereignisse dieser Nacht, die das Leben vieler Jüdinnen und Juden in Graz veränderte. Nach dem rund 15-minütigen Vortrag stand Konrad dem Auditorium für Fragen zur Verfügung.

Wissensdurst fand nach einer längeren Pause diesmal erstmals im beliebten Grazer "Brot & Spiele" statt. Die Veranstaltungsreihe ist Teil der 7. fakultät, des Zentrums für Gesellschaft, Wissen und Kommunikation an der Uni Graz. Das Projekt, von Dr. Wolfram Steurer initiiert, wird von den Studierenden Christian Fercher und Lukas Grumet geleitet.
