Das Zentrum Integriert Studieren feierte seinen runden Geburtstag

Rollstuhlgerechte Zugänge zu allen Gebäuden, Orientierungshilfen für sehbehinderte und blinde Personen, barrierefreie Literatur und Online-Angebote, Höranlagen für schwerhörige Menschen, speziell abgestimmte Prüfungsmodalitäten: Das Zentrum Integriert Studieren (ZIS) der Uni Graz hat in den vergangenen 20 Jahren viel erreicht, um den Uni-Alltag für Studierende mit körperlichen Beeinträchtigungen zu erleichtern.

Anlässlich des runden Geburtstags lud das Team rund um ZIS-Leiterin Mag. Barbara Levc gestern zu einem Fest ins Meerscheinschlössl. Zahlreiche WegbegleiterInnen aus Lehre, Forschung und Administration der Universität sowie VertreterInnen der ÖH waren gekommen, um gemeinsam Rückschau zu halten und auch nach vorne zu blicken.

Vizerektor Martin Polaschek, zuständig für Studium und Lehre, bedankte sich bei Levc für ihr Engagement und ihre Umsicht: "Sie haben sich den Respekt aller im Haus dadurch erworben, dass Sie mit Ihrer positiven Ausstrahlung stets unaufdringlich aber hartnäckig aufgezeigt haben, dass das Thema des integrierten Studierens alle etwas angeht." Auch für die Zukunft versprach Polaschek die umfassende Unterstützung des Rektorats.

Künftig möchte das ZIS sein Serviceangebot für Studierende mit nicht offensichtlichen Beeiträchtigungen - zum Beispiel Krankheiten wie Epilepsie oder psychologische Erkrankungen - erweitern. Heute, am 19. September 2014, findet dazu eine Fachtagung mit dem Titel "Zwischen allen Stühlen" von 9 bis 16:30 Uhr im Chemiegebäude am Universitätsplatz 1, Hörsaal 03.01, statt.

Around the world in eight stops: the Long Night of Research at the University of Graz

On 24 April from 5 pm, you can take a short trip around the globe at the University of Graz, discovering pecularities of foreign countries or new local features in the entrance hall of the University Library. The itinerary takes you through introduced animal species, political attitudes and the omnipotence of algorithms. There will also be a programme in the historic reading hall, as well as at the UniGraz@Museum and the University Archive.
