Martyn Bone is an Associate Professor of American Literature and Culture and the Coordinator of the Center for Trans-national American Studies in the Department of English, Germanic and Romance Studies, at the University of Copenhagen. His main research areas include American literature (especially 20th and 21st century); American southern literature and culture; trans-nationalism, migration and the U.S. South; Black Atlantic studies; trans-national American studies. In 2013, two books of his were published by the University Press of Florida: Creating Citizenship in the Nineteenth-Century South and The American South and the Atlantic World.
