Christian Berg (Graz): Ausgehend von den klimatischen und edaphischen Bedingungen der Region Südwest-Australien beleuchtet der Vortrag die Struktur und Zusammensetzung eines australischen Hartlaubwaldes. Obwohl es viele interessante Anpassungen der Vegetation und seiner Pflanzenarten an diesen sehr einzigartigen Standort zu beobachten gibt, bewegt den Betrachter doch letztendlich nur eine Frage: Wie konnte sich in dieser geomorphologischen Tristess eins der an Pflanzenarten reichsten Ökosysteme der Welt entwickeln?
