Discovering the Underlying Correspondence: Research, Writing, and Correspondence (1/2)
Registration ends 30.10.2026, 12:00
The first class will focus on how a researcher undertakes research to trace the primary materials, and the secondary materials related to the research, organises and aligns them with the research argument to address the gap(s) in the research question. Besides a general discussion on this approach towards research and its structural development, students attending the class will be asked to present their respective primary materials and there will be a workshop with the participants working on their respective topics. It will be followed by a discussion in the class about the possible theoretical exploration or analysis of their respective primary materials which will address the themes/argument of their respective Ph.D. projects. A detailed presentation from the students is not expected, due to the lack of time, but a substantial discussion by all the students will be encouraged to crack ideas and clear ambiguity towards structuring one's research especially when it comes to the use of case studies.
If necessary, the initial part of the second class will be devoted towards continuing the discussion by the students, along with feedback and exchange of ideas, who could not share their arguments in the previous class. It will be followed by a discussion on how to move ahead in the world of academic publishing. The class will end in enabling the participants realise the underlying connection between research, writing, and publication.
