Over the past few years protests and dissent in Southeastern Europe has been put under detailed scrutiny. While the political and social issues of protests have been investigated from different theoretical perspectives, the relationship between design, visual culture and the protests has been largely overlooked. Design and material culture of protests are an important product of changing political conditions in much of the Europe and very often they activate and represent widely held but largely unspoken aspirations of protestors.
