Center for Digital Teaching and Learning
The Center for Digital Teaching and Learning offers teachers and students at the University of Graz comprehensive services for the pedagogically motivated use of digital technologies in the classroom, including developing technology-enhanced course designs that benefit learners’ needs and advising the University of Graz on strategic measures in the area of online learning. The broad range of services offered by the Center for Digital Teaching and Learning include workshops and individual coaching sessions for university teachers on the effective use of digital media in classrooms (blended learning, video production, open educational resources, and e-assessment, among others). Furthermore, multimedia producers assist university teachers with the production of lecture recordings, podcasts, and other audio-visual content used in face-to-face and online classrooms. Additionally, members of the Center engage in research on and testing of innovative methods and technologies (including current projects on learning analytics and artificial intelligence) and are involved in a series of projects in cooperation with other institutions of higher education (e.g. the production of Massive Open Online Courses for Austria’s MOOC platform iMoox, or a project to assess the digital competencies of first-semester students across Styria). For students, the Center for Digital Teaching and Learning offers an e-tutoring program that equips students with skills in instructional design, e-moderation, and multimedia production. Aside from that, students can take workshops to develop their own digital competence portfolios, used inside and outside the university.
