There is a Students’ Introduction and Orientation Phase – STEOP for short – for all Bachelor’s and diploma programmes. This takes place in the first semester of a study programme and, depending on the field of study, a certain number of courses must be successfully completed. The purpose of STEOP is to provide orientation for the main course contents.
As well as the STEOP examinations, you can sit additional exams worth 22 ECTS points in accordance with the enrolment requirements stipulated in the curriculum. Exams which exceed this value cannot be brought forward.
STEOP exams can be retaken three times, which means you have a total of four attempts. If you do not pass the examination after the third resit, you are blocked for two semesters for the programme of study concerned and for programmes in which the course is also part of STEOP. Thereafter, you again have a maximum of four attempts to pass the exam. This process may be completed twice.
