The teacher training programme is organised and provided jointly by eight institutions working on a collaborative basis in the South-East Development Network (EVSO). In this study programme you will benefit from the combined strengths of all these institutions, and a broad range of study options. Your first school experience takes place as early as the second semester!
For the teacher training programme you must select at least two subjects or one subject as well as a specialist area of education.
Nutrition, Health and Consumer Education as a teaching subject at the University of Graz
This study programme covers nutrition, consumer education and health promotion from various different perspectives. You will explore fundamental ethical and political questions about dietary patterns as well as topics from biology, molecular biology, food chemistry and food technology. Course content includes subject knowledge and teaching methodology, giving you the best possible preparation for teaching in different types of schools for students with varying learning needs.
Master’s programme in General Secondary Level Teacher Training – teaching the subjects of Nutrition, Health and Consumer Education
The master’s programme in Nutrition, Health and Consumer Education as a teaching subject builds directly on the bachelor’s programme, broadening and developing the knowledge and skills already acquired.
Entry to the bachelor’s programme in General Secondary Level Teacher Training is selective and you will need to complete the admissions process. For admission to Nutrition, Health and Consumer Education as a teaching subject, you will also need to take part in a separate ranking process.
