The teacher training programme is organised and provided jointly by eight institutions working on a collaborative basis in the South-East Development Network (EVSO). In this study programme you will benefit from the combined strengths of all these institutions, and a broad range of study options. Your first school experience takes place as early as the second semester!
For the teacher training programme you must select at least two subjects or one subject as well as a specialist area of education.
Russian as a teaching subject at the University of Graz
The study programme will give you in-depth language training in Russian and teach you about the literature and culture of the Russian-speaking world. Its core element is an education in teaching methodology, paying particular attention to the aspect of interculturality.
Master’s programme in General Secondary Level Teacher Training – teaching the subject of Russian
The master’s programme in Russian as a teaching subject builds directly on the bachelor’s programme, broadening and developing the knowledge and skills already acquired.
Entry to the bachelor’s programme in General Secondary Level Teacher Training is selective and you will need to complete the admission process. To ensure you can participate in all courses right from the start, you must provide proof not only of your general higher education entrance qualification but also of Russian language skills at CEFR level A2 (assessment test or language certificate). During your bachelor’s studies you must also show evidence of Latin language skills (10 hours per week in the sixth form or supplementary examination). This is required to be able to take the module "Philologische Basisausbildung 2" in the 3rd semester.
