The teacher training programme is organised and provided jointly by eight institutions working on a collaborative basis in the South-East Development Network (EVSO). In this study programme you will benefit from the combined strengths of all these institutions, and a broad range of study options. Your first school experience takes place as early as the second semester!
For the teacher training programme you must select at least two subjects or one subject as well as a specialist area of education.
German as a teaching subject at the University of Graz
In this study programme, you will acquire expertise in the German language and its literature, as well as learn teaching methodology and skills specific to this subject area. Aspects such as children’s and young adult literature, media and multilingualism, extend the range of topics covered and you will also be given guidance and support to develop your communication skills.
Master’s programme in General Secondary Level Teacher Training – teaching the subject of German
The master’s programme in German as a teaching subject builds directly on the bachelor’s programme, broadening and developing the knowledge and skills already acquired.
Entry to the bachelor’s programme in General Secondary Level Teacher Training is selective and you will need to complete the admissions process. During your bachelor’s studies, you will also need to show evidence of Latin language skills (e.g. as part of your secondary school leaving examination, supplementary examination).
