The first one in your family to go to uni
This programme is designed for prospective and first-semester students who are the first member of their family to go to uni, or who have a migrant background. Our peer mentors provide support with your first steps at uni, and help you to get organised in your first year of study.
To make sure your first steps into university life are an enjoyable experience, and not just a matter of survival, this programme offers first-semester students a chance to get to know like-minded people, and to share experiences about the challenges of starting out at uni. New students meet up regularly in a friendly atmosphere, with our trained tutors available for support. The tutors can offer tips, advice and information about university life and specific procedures relevant to your study programme.
For first-year students
At the start of the semester beginners can find a collection of important pieces of information and advice, tutorials and service points online. A programme containing workshops, info talks and guided tours help prepare first-year students - in the month before the start of their study - for their life as a student.
