The first one in your family to go to uni
This programme is designed for prospective and first-semester students who are the first member of their family to go to uni, or who have a migrant background. Our peer mentors provide support with your first steps at uni, and help you to get organised in your first year of study.
To make sure your first steps into university life are an enjoyable experience, and not just a matter of survival, this programme offers first-semester students a chance to get to know like-minded people, and to share experiences about the challenges of starting out at uni. New students meet up regularly in a friendly atmosphere, with our trained tutors available for support. The tutors can offer tips, advice and information about university life and specific procedures relevant to your study programme.
For first-year students
In the weeks before the start of the winter semester the University of Graz prepares first-year students for the upcoming term and welcomes them on campus. Online sessions, tours, game night, info brunch, sports activities and so on ease the start of the semester. Welcome Events organised by the study programmes introduce you to the subject and new colleagues.
