Promotion of young scientists
The University of Graz’s DocService belongs to the Curricula Development and Study Services department and sees itself as a competence centre, service point and information hub for specific doctoral subjects in the context of a forward-looking, high-quality education of young scientists. With its permanent councelling offer for prospective doctors in all phases of their academic careers, support offers for tutors as well as projects on structural improvement and internationalisation of doctoral programmes at the University of Graz, we strive to make our research location and our international reputation more attractive. Due to the doctoral programme’s special rank in academic hierarchy (as a third cycle according to the Bologna curricula) and first stage in a scientific career (doctoral graduates as early stage researchers), the DocService regards itself as an interface between teaching and research.
The Doctoral Academy Graz offers an institutional roof for structured doctoral education. Its member consortia are internationally oriented and financed doctoral colleges, doctoral programmes and other research groups involving doctoral candidates. By promoting excellent doctoral researchers via structured doctoral education the Doctoral Academy places the University of Graz at the forefront of current international developments in the field of doctoral studies.
The PostDoc initiative is intended
- to support postdocs in maintaining optimal conditions for their work and in promoting their professional development
- and to make the potential of this very active group of researchers more visible.
The Postdoc Office is located in Heinrichstraße 22 on the 2nd floor and researchers can get in touch anytime.
