Welcome to our lab!

My lab is my castle...

Sometimes I do not realize, how much time I spend here...

This picture shows me sitting in front of my 1st capillary electrophoresis instrument, which was the main source for my PhD work.

Later, we got another instrument which is equipped with a diode-array detector. Using this instrument it is possible to test chiral continuous beds as stationary phases.

This picture shows a 200 fold magnification of a capillary (75 um ID) filled with an in-situ polymerized continuous bed.

There are two HPLC instruments available to develop chiral separation methods and to test chiral stationary phases. This instrument is an all-in-one equipment and provides a diode-array detector.

The advantage of this HPLC-instrument is the modular setup. Here, it is possible to exchange the pump or the detector very quickly, which is advantageous, if another detection method is required.

Recently, narrow-bore columns packed with chiral cellulose derivatives are tested and compared to normal-sized columns.
