HERBARIUM
The herbarium of our institute
(international abbreviation: GZU) holds more than 1,000,000 specimens of all plant
groups. I am acting curator of our collection of Fungi (last estimate: 105,000
specimens), dealing with loans and exchange as well as filing and curating. As
exchange items, I distribute an exsiccata series (Mycotheca Graecensis) and a
duplicate series (Dupla Graecensia
Fungorum). Many valuable acquisitions show that exsiccata from our institute are very much appreciated in
mycological institutions world-wide. Mycotheca Graecensis and Dupla Graecensia Fungorum are published
in our series Fritschiana.
LIBRARY
Our institute maintains a
substantial literature exchange programme. Phyton (Austria), Herzogia, Joannea
Botanik, Fritschiana,
and miscellaneous reprints of recent scientific papers are exchanged against
numerous other journals and series. Currently we also offer duplicates of books, journals and
series for exchange (mainly from the private book collection of the late Prof.
Josef Poelt). I also maintain the list of journals in the library of our
institute.
