APPLICATION and SUPPORT
The following information is important for school eligbility and application of support
- Application to the school must be made via the web application form.
This form automatically requests financial support but eligibility for support is restricted as
described in
SUPPORT ELIGIBILITY

- One letter of recommendation must be sent to the school email address by the writer of the letter.
- Who can apply? The summer school is intended for Postdocs and PhD-students
interested in the school subject. Due to organizational reasons, the number of participants will be limited to 50. As a major goal of
this event is to encourage and support the development of new researchers in this field, an important consideration for school
acceptance is satisfaction of the financial support eligibility requirements outlined below.
- Is the school of interest to students or researchers from many fields?
The issues, problems, and methodologies for modeling and parameter estimation
of complex physiological systems extend to many fields. Hence a potential
participant from any related physiological research discipline is welcome to
apply even if his/her area does not directly involve cardiovascular-respiratory applications.
- How are applicants accepted to the school? Given the limited funds and seating,
the acceptance to the school is competitive and based on review of the application
by an acceptance committee. Please note again that a letter of recommendation must be provided by the applicant, but submitted by the letter writer to the school email address. Check KEY DATES link for deadlines.

- Who is eligible for financial support? Financial support is principally (by proportion) restricted
to applicants from EU and EU associated countries. Furthermore, the Marie Curie Action has defined categories of eligible recipients of support. Note also that an applicant who is not an EU citizen but who is living or studying in EU may
be eligible. Details on financial support and the definitions of categories of eligibility for support, as well as list of EU

- Applicants not from the EU and not living in EU: A limited number of seats may be available for such
participants. Contact the school for information.
- Applicants eligible for financial support and acceptance to the school: For applicants eligible for support, acceptance to the school guarantees support.
- What is included in financial support? Support includes EU calculated travel expenses, full support for room and 3 meals for the 14 school days including arrival on July 22, registration, attendance of all classes and class materials and workshop sessions.
- Interested applicants not eligible for support may apply and can be considered for the school, based on qualifications and space permitting. The Basic Tuition Cost:
700 Euro. This tuition includes accommodation and three meals per day for the entire 14 day school as well as all school associated costs. It may be possible that this cost can be reduced somewhat. Use the same application form linked above.
