 | | Dear ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to University of Graz. With more than 30,000 students and 3,800 research, teaching and administrative staff, University of Graz, founded in 1585, is one of the largest, most traditional and innovative universities in Austria. The range of courses on offer at six faculties is determined by variety and diversity. Students can currently choose from more than 100 bachelor’s, master’s, diploma and doctoral degrees. As a modern scientific facility, University of Graz carries out leading-edge research of international standard in seven main fields. Decades of co-operating with partner institutions in south-east European countries have not only led to the University’s overall focus on “south-east Europe” but also guarantee that University of Graz can constantly expand its central role towards south-east Europe. By initiating interdisciplinary partnerships, University of Graz has become a key player in Styria as an economic location and research base. With NAWI Graz, the successful co-operation with Graz University of Technology, and the teacher training colleges, Styria’s largest university has excellent network connections. What is more, it is constantly looking for innovative ways of intensifying co-operations between universities: for the future, the BioTechMed platform is planned to bring University of Graz, Graz University of Technology, and the University of Medicine closer together in the fields of human technology, medicine, pharmacy and psychology. But University of Graz is also aware of its social responsibility. With the aid of “The 7th Faculty, Centre for Society, Knowledge and Communication” we aim to address people outside the bounds of classical study, making university education accessible to the general public.
